Following yesterday’s coverage of Tubemap in Metro (http://www.metro.co.uk/news/867652-london-tube-map-gets-designer-revamp-to-be-more-accurate) we’ve received many positive comments, some useful suggestions and a few queries. I will try to summarise answers to most of them here.
The iPhone app is awaiting approval from iTunes, due shortly; Android version planned.
We are working on adding the following: walking links; riverboat services; National Rail lines covered by Oystercard; Boris Bikes; and many other features to surprise and delight! We will also add the zones and index that are currently only on the pdf download.
We will not be treating disabled access in the same way the official map does it. There are better ways and we’ll try to include where you can interchange as well, for example, Kilburn and Brixton are both indicated as having disabled access but could you make the journey? Also, we are looking into how to assist those with visual impairment and colour blindness.
Typos on Cannon Street and Elverson Road have been well and truly noted, glad you are all studying the map in detail!
And there have been many requests for printed version so we’ll have some posters and pocket-sized versions done. We need to need to update the map first taking into account the useful comments on station, line and interchange configurations.
Many thanks to all that have contributed so far it’s much appreciated!
